The Sixth Wife proved rather a tedious experience and one of Jean Plaidys weakest novels. Ive read several books about Katharine Parr, all of which were more engaging than this one. Too much telling rather than showing is the biggest problem/5.

The Sixth Wife seems to be more about Catherine, Duchess of Suffolk; than Katherine Parr. It's interesting to know a bit more about the time, but this story seemed to be short on historical fact. It seemed more about what people might wear and think at that time and I'm not so sure I believe the detail Suzannah Dunn wrote about/5(18).
